{"id":1967,"date":"2025-06-06T14:14:38","date_gmt":"2025-06-06T14:14:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mentortec.eu\/?p=1967"},"modified":"2025-06-06T14:14:40","modified_gmt":"2025-06-06T14:14:40","slug":"citizens-xelerator-wins-the-grundtvig-2025-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mentortec.eu\/en\/2025\/06\/06\/citizens-xelerator-wins-the-grundtvig-2025-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Citizens Xelerator wins the Grundtvig 2025 Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/citizensxelerator.eu\/\">Citizens Xelerator<\/a> project, coordinated by Mentortec, has won the 2025 Grundtvig Prize from the <a href=\"https:\/\/eaea.org\/\">European Adult Education Association (EAEA)<\/a>, in recognition of its transformative impact on adult education and training.<\/p>\n\n<p>The award ceremony took place during the<strong> EAEA Annual Conference<\/strong>, which was held in <strong>Leipzig, Germany,<\/strong> from <strong>3 to 4 June 2025<\/strong>. Marta Reis and Andreia Monteiro, representing Mentortec, received the award from <strong>Lauri Tuomi<\/strong>, President of the Finnish Lifelong Learning Foundation and EAEA President. <\/p>\n\n<p>The Grundtvig Prize was created to honour excellence and innovation in adult education. Mobilisation of resources <\/strong> &#8211; guidance and activities to work on self-regulation, flexibility, empathy, collaboration, communication, empathy, growth mindset and managing learning to empower adults in promoting civic engagement and mobilisation to celebrate diversity, democracy and social participation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>These activities were promoted in 8 <strong>Citizens Xelerator Action Labs<\/strong> established in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Greece, Romania, Croatia and Germany and with the support from a network of 69 organisations.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;This journey began three years ago with a team of dreamers who decided to build a project to guide adults to be \u201centrepreneurs of themselves\u201d,\u2019 shared Andreia Monteiro during the award ceremony. \u2018Together, we&#8217;ve managed to make a difference to around 1900 adults who have taken part in sessions, actions and celebrations.&#8221; <\/p>\n<cite><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color\">Andreia Monteiro<\/span><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A growing movement.<\/h2>\n\n<p>With an inclusive, collaborative and results-orientated approach, Citizens Xelerator has established itself as a true catalyst for social change.
