The BePart project has come to an end! Beginning in December 2019 and over 3 years of implementation, this was a project that resulted from the objective of developing, implementing and evaluating a participatory and innovative approach to young people, promoting inclusive education alongside citizenship skills and youth empowerment.
The innovative approach to participation conceived in the BePart project was based on the concept of youth-led development, placing young people at the center of their change, development and growth. This was achieved by challenging students, aged 13-15 with disadvantaged backgrounds, to participate in the decision-making process in their schools and thus acquire or develop their civic skills, empowerment and, ultimately, their social inclusion.
Conference and Final Meeting
On November 2022, the BePart project organised its final conference “Paths of Youth Participation: Which Paths?” at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto.
The conference aimed to discuss youth participation and was attended by the different partners and participants. All the students who took part in the project were also invited to present their experiences and perspectives on youth participation.
On 10th of November 2022, the BePart partners met at the Faculty of Education Sciences for the final meeting of the project, which resulted in the monitoring of the project’s management, dissemination and evaluation tasks.
BePart was a project coordinated by Mentortec involving eight partners from Portugal, Spain, Greece and Latvia: Centre for Research and Intervention in Education (CIIE), Paços de Ferreira Secondary School, Platoniq, Action Synergy, 2nd Gymnasium Geraka, Valmiera Pargauja Primary School and Virolai School.
